SwimSense Privacy

SwimSense App Privacy Policy

Your pool data stays focused on your pool.

This policy explains how SwimSense LLC collects, uses, shares, retains, and deletes information through the SwimSense iOS and Android apps, the connected-device service, and app.swimsenseusa.com.

Effective and last updated: September 19, 2026

Scope

This policy applies to the SwimSense app, its cloud services, connected SwimSense equipment, provider-access features, and the AppLink pages at app.swimsenseusa.com. Purchases and visits on the SwimSense online store are covered by the separate Store Privacy Policy.

We do not sell app information, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Information we collect

Account and contact information

Name, email address, phone number, company information, account identifiers, and the pool or service addresses and preferences you provide.

Pool and equipment information

Pool names, volume and configuration; equipment identifiers, models, serial numbers, firmware, settings, connectivity, schedules, and current state.

Telemetry and activity

Water temperature, salt, flow, turnover, cell voltage, current and direction, alerts, maintenance history, diagnostic information, and commands sent to connected equipment.

App and notification information

A random app-installation identifier, push-notification token, platform and app-version metadata, service requests, security events, and error or reliability details.

Service content

Provider-access grants, service notes, comments, messages, support requests, and photos you choose to attach to service or warranty records.

Warranty and billing information

Product-registration and warranty details. If billing is enabled for your account, Stripe processes payment information; SwimSense does not receive your full card number.

Device permissions and setup

  • Bluetooth: used to find and provision nearby SwimSense equipment when you start setup.
  • Notifications: optional permission used for equipment and service updates.
  • Photos: accessed only when you choose a photo to attach to a service or warranty record.

The app does not request GPS location access. During provisioning, the Wi-Fi credentials you enter are sent locally to the selected equipment over Bluetooth; SwimSense does not intentionally upload or store the Wi-Fi password in its cloud service.

How we use information

  • Create, authenticate, secure, and support your account.
  • Set up, monitor, troubleshoot, and control connected pool equipment.
  • Display pool history, alerts, maintenance, warranty, and service information.
  • Send transactional notifications and respond to support requests.
  • Authorize and audit access you grant to a pool service company.
  • Prevent misuse, investigate errors, maintain reliability, comply with law, and protect users and equipment.

When we disclose information

We disclose information only as needed for the purposes above:

  • Cloud and communication providers: Amazon Web Services for authentication, APIs, databases, connected-device messaging, file storage, and email; and Google Firebase or Apple Push Notification service for notifications.
  • Payment provider: Stripe when subscription or billing functionality applies.
  • Authorized pool professionals: a company and its assigned team members can see the specific pools and service content that an authorized homeowner shares. Access can be revoked.
  • Legal and safety needs: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or respond to valid legal process.
  • Business transaction: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice requirements.

Service providers may process information only to provide their contracted services and under their own security and privacy obligations.

Retention and deletion

While your account is active

We retain account, location, device-ownership, settings, messages, alerts, service, and access records for as long as needed to operate the account and provide requested features.

Time-limited records

Temporary telemetry-export files expire after about seven days and export jobs after about eight days. Deletion-progress records expire after seven days. Security and application-audit events, when enabled, expire after up to 180 days.

Equipment, service, and warranty history

Historical equipment telemetry may be retained for up to five years. After account deletion it remains only under an opaque equipment-data identifier with the account-to-equipment ownership link removed. De-identified service records may remain for up to 400 days, and warranty registrations for up to five years from registration.

Recovery and legal records

Point-in-time recovery may preserve prior database versions for up to 35 days. Restricted administrative recovery backups and records needed for security, disputes, tax, warranty, fraud prevention, or legal compliance may remain longer until no longer required.

Expiration runs asynchronously, so a record may be deleted after it becomes eligible. Retained or de-identified information is restricted from ordinary account use and is not used for advertising or marketing.

Your choices and account deletion

  • Change account, location, equipment, and notification settings in the app where available.
  • Decline notifications in your device settings.
  • Grant or revoke pool-professional access from the app.
  • Delete your account from Settings → Delete Account.

If you cannot access the app, follow the public account-deletion process. Account deletion releases owned equipment, deletes direct account data and the sign-in identity, and de-identifies the retained records described above. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable law provides that right.

AppLink website information

A coded QR visit may record its time, campaign code, packaging version, product or placement, and a coarse platform category. Our QR measurement does not use cookies, a persistent device identifier, or the full browser user-agent string. Hosting and security providers may process standard request information such as IP address and user agent to deliver and protect the service.

Security and international processing

We use administrative, technical, and access controls designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. SwimSense and its service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

Children

SwimSense is intended for adults responsible for pool equipment and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided information to the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, change the date above, and provide additional notice when required.
